5 Harley Davidson Fork Cartridges
Three are the versions proposed by Bitubo to personalize the forks: JBH (pressurized cartridges with adjustable spring preload, compression and rebound), JBC (pair of "hybrid" cartridges, consisting of a pressurized cartridge with adjustable spring preload and rebound, cap and spring with only preload on the other leg), KB1 (spring and cap kit with preload adjustment).
The features that characterize this new Bitubo line from the others currently on the market are a lot and complementary. Every Bitubo product of this new line is:
- Plug&Play, i.e. it requires no modification of the original components, and allows resetting the original suspension at any time
- Serviceable in all its parts and therefore always efficient for all the life of the motorcycle
- Customizable lowering. Every cartridge is provided by the factory with a system of spacers that allows setting up the bike with the standard data or customizing the lowering up to -30 mm.
On the top of every cartridge there is also an aesthetic ring available in the colors: red, for those who want to bring out the technical component, or black, for those who love a more classical look.

04 Fork Braces
Most of us desire a stiffer front end and a Tarozzi fork brace will certainly help in this department.
The front end of your bike plays a fairly major part in how your machine handles. Your fork tubes (hopefully already going in & out correctly) are firmly attached at the top with the triple trees/clamps and at the bottom of the the lower legs with the axle. In between there is quite a distance that is reasonably free to do what it wants when cornering, in a straight line and under brakes. By firmly holding the top of the lower legs together, the Tarozzi fork brace is designed to lessen any flex that does happen making it one of the cheapest, and easiest to install, front end mods you can make.
Have a look at the Lists below to see if it there's one available for your bike. If your bike is not listed, let us know and we still may be able to assist you providing the centre to centre measurement of your fork tubes is 210mm or less. Priced at $196.90 each
-
05 Adjustable Race Bars/Clip-Ons
We can't offer you 'Bar Risers' but can offer something maybe better.
The range of Tarozzi Low & High Clip-Ons / Race Bars offer adjustment possibilities not available on other brands that I know of. The female conical shape on the fork clamp allows the male conical shape on the Riser to rotate 360° (if nothing was in the way) and once tightened correctly, locks into position securely. In addition to the 'any angle' adjustment, the riser offsets the bar and can be mounted forwards or backwards which means the bar centre can be 6mm behind the fork clamp or 27mm in front. An image below shows this.
The Low Race lift the bars 35mm from the centre of the fork clamp to the centre of the handlebar tube whilst the High Race lift is 70mm. When considering these, please allow for close fitting fairings and other potential obstacles.
In addition to Lo & Hi Race Bars, we also have the Axe 35 & Axe 105 range. The fork clamps & bar ends have the same conical shapes but have set angles reducing the adjustment possibilities.
The whole Tarozzi range have 22mmØ CP steel bars suitable for fork tube sizes from 27mmØ through to 54mmØ. Have a look at the Application Chart or Price List below for the full range.
Spare parts are available along with replacement aluminium tubes for the Lo & Hi Race bars. A worthy additional item might be some handlebar weights as seen on the next page.

09 Bar End Weights
Tarozzi make some great non-mainstrean products and these handlebar weights are some of them.
Weighted bar ends help reduce the tingly vibration through the handlebars that often numbs your hands all too soon on a ride.
Available with a chrome finish in 150, 250, 300 & 350gr weights and satin black finish in 300 & 350gr weights.
The 150, 250 & 300gr have a 17mmØ stem and a rubber grommet holding it in place making them suitable for most bars. The 350gr have an 18mmØ stem with an angled metal sleeve to hold it in place which makes them unsuitable for some handlebars. Please check the inside dimension of your bars.

What's in the shed........
Following is an eclectic assortment of various bikes.
Hope you enjoy.

1. Honda XL250/350
The past decades has seen the addiction to the old XL250 & 350 Single Exhaust Port bikes happily worsen. There are currently five 250's and three 350's differing stages of deterioration, completion, restoration & modification.
This first image is a blast from the past.... a burnout on the XL250/364 at the 1991 Oyster Rally near Batemans Bay from memory...
Images 2 & 3, taken late 1998, are a recreation of L'il Thumper temporarily fitted with a Powroll XL350/449 engine. L'il Thumper is being reincarnated now and will be finished by the end of Winter 2015 if funds allow....
Images 4 - 7, taken in 2007, are of a Powroll XL350/449 MXer that has not been tested on a track yet but scares the colour out me every time it's ridden around our flat ½ acre or around the block. One day it may see some racing if time allows....

2. 1993 CBR400RR NC29
1993 Honda CBR400RR NC29 - Four cylinder Gear driven DOHC with 16 valves - 4 x 55.0mm bore x 42.0mm stroke 399cc - 59PS @ 13000 - 4.0kgm @ 10000 - 162kg - 6th gear @ 10000rpm = 159km/h (99mph) - 172kW/Tonne Not LAMS approved
"Animal" was purchased in Jan 2013 in a very sad, sorry and dodgy state. Two days later it almost spat me off, on a known corner, putting me the closest to the tarmac in 25 years. Scared the crap out of me.
Five months later saw it back on the road with the correct length & ID Tarozzi fork tubes, a Tarozzi fork brace, Bitubo XZE rear shock, Bitubo fork springs, tapered roller steering head bearing and lots of OEM parts including fork slides&bushes, swingarm bushes&bearings, wheel bearings, indicators and some body parts.
Things to do include a Yoshimura muffler to replace the original empty can which is too loud but shoots excellent flames on deceleration, a dynotune due to 7.5L/100Km (37mpg) economy & horrible power characteristics and a new set of fairings in PPMP colours. Watch this space....
Update Nov 2015:
Have added some current pics of Animal with the dynotuned Yoshimura muffler & new fairings. These were taken weeks before it completed a 5731km return trip to Phillip Island for the 2015 MotoGP. The trip down saw the New England to Tamworth then Werris Creek, Coolah, Bathurst (including a lap or two), Oberon, ACT, Cooma, Thredbo, Khancoban, Tallangatta, Mitta Mitta, Omeo, Bairnsdale, Wilsons Promontory, Phillip Island then home via The Great Ocean Road, Mt Gambier, The Grampians, Tallangatta/Granya, Wombat, Blue Mountains, Mudgee, Tamworth and The New England to home. Looking forward to doing it again in Feb 2016 for the WSBK.
Many thanks to Shane's Bikes Boats & Performance at Warwick. Shane is a very patient man who was given a real Animal that was more economical to ride at 160km/h than it was at 100km/h and performed like a pig. He performed miracles on his dyno, and a lot of work on the carbs, giving Animal smooth power from 3000 all the way up to 14000rpm while returning an average of 5.53L/100km (51.5mpg). It is now possible to cruise through a town at 60km/h in top gear at 3800rpm and pull nicely away when allowed. His services have resulted in an amazing transformation.
Next & final parts... some silicone hoses, a working LHS switch block and, somehow, a steering damper......
Update Jan 2016:
At 2:55pm on 12th Jan 2016, a pretty-faced wallaby decided to commit suicide using me on the CBR400RR (Animal) as its method of choice. He was successful in his endeavours and, thankfully, I did not join him but did manage to damage my right shoulder to the extent of requiring surgery. Apart from some missing skin, the rest of me was OK but the poor bike suffered bent fork tubes and some frame twisting along with all of the fairings being beyond repair. All has been straightened or replaced and it is an awesome bike once again.
A working LHS switch block has been sourced and a Bitubo steering damper has been fitted.
-
3. 1987 Honda GB400 NC20
A real barn find in July 2017.....a 1987 Honda GB400 with a genuine 9160km on the clock!
The little single was last registered in 2009 and had sat in a shed after a fall which broke the LHS clip-on, clutch lever and footpeg mount. These were replaced along with new wheel bearings, Avon tyres and Bitubo shock absorbers. The addition of a Tarozzi fork brace and a Bitubo steering damper sees the GB handling very nicely but still looking forward to some emulators soon.
Update Oct 2018: The GB now sees more than 22000km on the clock which includes quite a few rallies and a couple of 2000km return trips to The Blue Mountains. The single uses about 300ml of oil on these long trips and is reasonably economical consuming 4.53 litres fuel per 100km or returning 62.53mpg. This is cruising at mostly 110km/h with NO freeways and as few highways as possible. What a great little bike.
